Brownwen X Ben MacDhui Due: October 14, 2011

Bronwen
Bronwen is the full Peruvian, half accoyo daughter of Accoyo Yupanqui (deceased), with black gums and toenails, dark, soulful eyes and subtle grey markings in her topknot. Her grandsire is the true black 5Peruvian Chinchero, and her granddam, Pperuvian Marcela, produced two of the best colored herdsires in the US - the grey Silver Dollar and Show Me the Money. Bronwen is bred with our silver grey Champion, Ben MacDhui, who has exceptional density and lock structure to his award winning fleece, excellent conformation, an exquisite typey head, and a grey/black pedigree reaching back four generations. This same breeding produced a healthy, show-quality 19lb solid black granddaughter of Accoyo Yupanqui (white), and multiple Champion silver grey, Request the Best.

Bronwen is a blue ribbon winner and placed second in white yearling composite at MaPaca 2005. Dhui has won numerous ribbons, including Reserve Champion and a blue ribbon at the 2002 Virginia Classic, a first at the 2001 MaPaca Jubilee in full fleece yearling halter, plus a second place in adult male halter and a second place fleece ribbon at the 2002 MaPaca Jubilee.

Ishbel
Ish is a beautiful bay black / dark silver grey half-Peruvian Danko & Platinum granddaughter, with wonderful fineness and density, heavy bone and a confident, personable presence. She has inherited four generations of world class grey and black ancestry from her superfine black dam, while her sire is a blue ribbon-winning full Peruvian medium rose grey with an adult micron count of 19.3 and 2.3% of fibers over 30 at his 3rd shearing. Ishbel is bred with Nikos, the exceptional, half-accoyo, showy son of the renowned half-accoyo silver grey herdsire Aussie Rockford, and Peaceful Valley Priya. He has outstanding conformation, a well-shaped beautiful head, extreme coverage and a dense topknot. His fleece is very, very fine and bright, with good architecture and a gorgeous dark silver grey color. This is the third time we have repeated this breeding, which produced the award-winning dark silver grey male, Prince, and the magnificent silver grey Isla, who will make her showing debut this Fall.

Ish has consistently won ribbons at major shows in bay black classes and her fiber placed first in the 2005 Virginia Classic Handcrafters' SpinOff, first out of 8 in the 2005 Mid-America Handcrafters' SpinOff, with a score of 94.5/100, second in the SpinOff at the Level 4 OABA fleece show in 2005 and second out of 7 grey entries in the MAPACA 2007 fleece show.  Iris X Tundra Due: October 27, 2011

DSF Iris
Iris is the brown / recessive black daughter of the Champion rose grey, McGinnis, who sired both the grey Color Champion female at the 2004 AOBA Nationals, and the 2005 grey Futurity Champion female. This attractive female has soft-handled, crimpy fiber with wonderful staple length, plus good coverage and great conformation. Iris is bred with our full Peruvian, white male, Tundra, who has already produced Champion colored offspring, including true black. Produced from the ideal match, breeding the dam of "Show Me The Money" and "Silver Dollar", to Presidio, an outstanding Caligula son, Tundra exhibits great conformation, and coverage plus beautiful fleece, with extreme character, luster, tremendous bundling and wonderful density. Iris has produced offspring with crimpy, fine, soft-handled fiber when bred with Nikos, but so far, only in shades of brown. With this breeding we are hoping to maintain the color and increase density.

Iris placed second at her first show, in the juvenile dark composite class at MAPACA in 2007. She went on to win a blue ribbon in the 2007 PAOBA fleece show, a second place in both the 2007 & 2008 LA Deep South Spinoff competitions and a second place in the prestigious National Fiber to Fashion Spinoff in 2008. Tundra won second place ribbons in halter classes of 12 and 13 white males at the 2004 MOPACA show, the 2004 Ft. Worth show and the 2003 Great Western Alpaca Show. He was also part of Presidio's blue ribbon-winning "Get of Sire" class at the 2004 MOPACA show. In the SpinOffs he has entered, his fiber has won three blue ribbons, plus a second place at the 2005 AOBA Nationals.

 Nola X Tundra Due: October 28, 2011

Nola

Nola is the Champion 7/8 Peruvian daughter of a Champion sire and a MaPaca blue ribbon-winning dam, with outstanding density, fineness and crimp. She is also half-sister to our Champion maroon female, Myfanwy and has two full Peruvian black grandparents (Peruvian Matador and Black Jack Jax, sired by 4Peruvian Black Magic). Nola is bred with our full Peruvian, white male, Tundra, who has already produced Champion colored offspring, including true black. We expect a 15/16 colored Peruvian offspring with elite fiber qualities from this breeding. This is a repeat breeding, because we were thrilled with the quality of Nola's white / fawn 2010 daughter, Siani who exhibits an incredibly dense, bright, crimpy, bundling fleece, and has the potential to throw top quality color.

Nola has twice placed second in mixed multi halter classes at Level III shows, against much lighter-colored alpacas. Her fiber has won multiple ribbons, including first in the 2006 PAOBA fleece show, first in the 2006 VAOBA Expo SpinOff, where the experienced fiber judge described Nola's fiber as "one of the nicest fibers I've ever spun", first in the 2007 Virginia Classic SpinOff and second out of 15 entries in the 2006 National Fiber to Fashion SpinOff. Her 22 month shearing won a fleece Championship at MAPACA 2007 and she also won a first place in the 2007 AOBA National SpinOff competition! He has outstanding conformation, a well-shaped beautiful head, extreme coverage and a dense topknot. Lady is a powerhouse of top genetics for quality colored fleece. She is the true black daughter of Nova's Black Knight III, the 2004 Futurity Reserve Champion and son of the legendary true black Snowmass Nova. Her sire has superfine, dense, uniform, bundled black fiber and Lady's black dam has gorgeous fleece with a CV of 13.2 and SD of 3.6 at 2 years of age, giving it a satiny sheen and silk-like handle. She is bred with Ben MacDhui, our silver grey Champion, who has exceptional density and lock structure to his award winning fleece, excellent conformation, an exquisite typey head, and a grey/black pedigree reaching back four generations.

Iona Jaxon X Knightrider Due: December 1, 2011

Iona
Iona is the jet black daughter of two superfine, true black parents. Her sire is the 4X Champion true black Peruvian CPeruvian Axtion Jaxon, who has a remarkable show record and superfine, crimpy fleece. In his first year AJ's fiber analysis was AFD 18.4, SD 3.7, CV 20.0, >30 1.4%, and her dam is an extremely fine true black Danko daughter (20.3 AFD @ 11 months), with beautiful soft-handled fleece. She is bred with our true black Champion, Peruvian Knightrider, who has excellent density, crimp and handle and wonderful conformation and presence. Knightrider is a Champion, 5X blue ribbon-winner and 2X AOBA National ribbon winner. Last year, this breeding produced a beautiful, solid true black son, and we like this match. Iona is superfine and soft-handled, while Knightrider is dense and crimpy with excellent heavy-boned conformation and fiber coverage. In 2009 and 2010, this breeding produced a non-tipping, non-fading black male, so we repeated the match in the hope of producing a show quality black female for our foundation herd.

Iona won a blue ribbon at her first show, in a juvenile shorn class at the Virginia State Fair in September 2005, and placed second in a shorn Class at MaPaca in 2006. Knightrider is a Champion, 5X blue ribbon-winner and 2X AOBA National ribbon winner.
