Here you will discover quality, colorful, friendly alpacas, raised with individual care and attention in an atmosphere of trust. Nine of the 25 show-age alpacas in our foundation herd are Champion/Reserve Champions, 20 are blue ribbon winners and 21 have won at least a second place at Level III or higher alpaca shows! You can meet our award-winning herdsires and our beautiful dams and cria here on our web site. 14th Annual Virginia Classic, Lexington, VA - March 15-16, 2008. Cameron placed second out of all the greys in the Walking Fleece Fiber Futurity. This class focuses specifically on fiber genetics and is intended to predict the potential impact of alpacas on the next generation. Agnes placed third in her halter class, and our eldest daughter, who shows alpacas for our farm and others, placed second in intermediate showmanship and public relations. We also introduced our new line of alpaca coats, for crias and adults, made of all natural materials. April Shearing Tour: April 1 - April 22, 2008. This year we are organising shearing for over 1400 alpacas at 36 farms in Virginia. This is the seventh year we have scheduled the shearing route for Darren Kennedy in this area. If you need help with shearing in 2009, please email us before Halloween 2008. Thanks! MaPaca Eastern Alpaca Jubilee, Harrisburg, PA - April 25-27, 2008. At the largest alpaca show in the US, our four fleece entries won three seconds and a fourth (Cameron, Lady, Nola and Iris respectively) and our Spinoff entries won a first (Brigit) and two seconds (Magnus and Lady). For the first time in 7 years, we didn't take alpacas to MAPACA, but went instead as a vendor, selling yarn and socks made in the US from US alpaca, alpaca coats for crias, adults and juvis, plus needlefelting kits and rovings. Our eldest daughter showed alpacas for other farms, including Double O Good and their clients. For more information about this huge alpaca event, visit www.mapaca.org and check out those cute little girls in hula skirts on the main Jubilee Show page! |
